Experiments generally are not kind to their subjects. Experiments can be unsettling and painful with trepidation and pain arriving in many forms. Even under the best humane human laboratory conditions, research animals in all kinds of experimental laboratory settings endure various forms of anxiety and pain.
And so it is with Eve's children and the other branches of humanity in Creation's Experimental Garden. Our experimental trials were front loaded with tremendous obstacles. The experimental maze we traverse is laden with primordial traps, spiritual pitfalls, emotional hazards, moral ambiguity, and intellectual dead-ends, obstacles due in part either to Creation-Based Defects in our design or God-Intended Exclusions in our design, and, in no small part, to the laboratory Creation chose for our trials in The Experiment.
It is unlikely that these shortcomings and the instinctive influence of our survival psyche could ever not have affected our behavior in God's Experimental Garden. We recall a line from Impression Prophecy: "Foolishly, some men called it the first law, the law of survival."
It is an unfortunate paradox--illustrated in this brief analysis.
To increase the chance of human survival in the garden, our design included innate ambition and a relatively large complex, albeit slowly developing, brain with which to reason, reflect, learn, and adapt. We were also given three stimulus responses--pain, anger, and fear.
Natural ambition combined with the learning, reasoning, and adapting part of our slowly developing intellectual design supported both short-term and long-term solutions to all the psychological design flaws, physiological design flaws, and natural danger that are inevitable on an evolving living planet.
The three stimulus responses facilitated immediate survival reactions including whether, among others, to run, jump, hide, or fight when confronted with the dangers which other humans, other life forms, and the evolving living planet presented us.
Unfortunately, the evil gift of the corrupt small power from the Mutant Lesser Power cited in Impression Prophecy led to an experimental world of of corrupt patriarchs, kings, warlords, military strategists, religious officiants, and other corrupt power brokers who--through force and guile--persuaded ordinary people to morph natural ambition into unbridled greed.
We learned to value more the stimulus response of our design and to relegate the intellectual component of ur design to the basement of things valued in in the survival hierarchy.
Historically, pain, anger, fear, and relentless greed motivates too much behavior that matter. Much of that behavior lack introspection and is irrational for developing genuine feelings of well-being that are essential for a healthy moral happiness and the long-term survival of our species on Earth.
Plagued by a constant search for happiness and good feelings predicated on power, possessions, and control; decidedly influenced by our personal need to be adored by many; and obsessed with both our personal and tribal need to feel superior to other human groups, we engage in habitual behaviors that more and more alienate us from our creator.
It fosters an emptiness that magnifies the pain, anger, fear, and greed that already motivates more behavior than it should. What once had been an automatic defense response, a slightly higher form of what we call animal instinct, instead became the dominating part of our survival psyche.
In our survival psyche, aggressive behavior, gratuitous displays of wealth and power, and adulation from the crowd are synonymous with success, happiness, and survival even when it is pretentious, dramatized, faked, overly stylized for effect, or contrived in the contemporary practice of acquiring votes, social popularity, notoriety, and the need to create news and entertainment.
Now, pain ,anger, fear, and unrepentant greed are constant companions for too many members or our species. The populace effective considers non-aggressive and non-pompous intellectuals and liberal thinking men and women to be boring, weak, laughable, and useless--often willing to listen to intelligent discourse only if the messengers of such discourse couch their observations and critiques in humor or music, and willingly accede to only a little of that.
