The search for God is a defining trial of the human experience. But religious searches for God often result in such strange behaviors and suppositions that the religious search for God, for many, is often fraught with questions about validity, reliability, truth, and the absurdity of the lie. Many of us must confront any significant questions we have about these four things before we can even begin to escape the gravitational pull that our failure to "find God" invokes.
It is unfortunate for those who demand credibility and reliability that much of The Bible is enigmatic and difficult to reconcile in modern human terms. It is much more unfortunate that, for those who struggle mightly with the Pain Of Mortal Being And the Fear Of Eternal Being, The Bible in places is contradictory and diametrically opposed to human life as they perceive it.
Others discern that much of what they find in The Bible is patently antithetical to the guiding principles of Eve's Simple Realities. It is disconcerting for some that this great book fails in its attempt to make sense of the chaos in our world. For others it fails in its attempt to explain to their satisfaction, humanity's relationship with our Creator God.
To others of our contemporaries, The Bible is utter nonsense. The fact that The Bible reflects the language and social structure of the people whose time it chronicles makes modern day interpretations of The Bible and the use of the explanations of these interpretations of The Bible problematic for anyone insisting or rational validity and consistent reliability.
Much of the writing in the Old Testament, besides being a history of a people, attempts to explain and make sense of human existence. It attempts to speak to the origin of "man's" failure and to our potential for escaping a hellish eternity. The story of man's introduction to sin is an ancient combination of theology, sociology, and biology validating a people's need to explain their existence and the reasons suffering pervades the human experience. The evidence of Genesis and the rest of the Old Testatment is that it provides the framework for defining the social structure of a people.
Consequently, one can find in The Bible, if it were your wont, justification for slavery, murder, war, conquest and the slaughter of every living thing of an entire city, concubines, rape, and the legal domination of men over women. All of which are opposed to the wisdom of the Ten Commandments and Eve's simple Realilties.
One may, if one wishes, use the inconsistencies in The Bible as reasons for devaluating all religion and not buying into a religion of any kind. However, whether The Bible is a flawed document or perfect in every way, we should not grasp either perception as reasons for failing to establish a symbiotic relationship with God. Establishing Symbiotic Intimacy with God is the pinnacle of a mortal existence.
You should avoid any excuse that retards your ability to realize that crown of your human experience. Any excuse you use to deny yourself Symbiotic Intimacy with God is suicidal--both mortal and eternal. You should make a conscious effort to avoid only those people, places, behaviors, circumstances, and religious practices that compromise your ability to live by the wisdom of The Ten Commandments and Eve's Simple Realities. You should always endeavor to reap the magnificent gifts of Symbiotic Grace.
If a person, a movement, a church, a religion, the proponents of a religion, or a book compromises your ability to share Symbiotic Intimacy with God: to glorify His Works, to santify the value of human life and human dignity, to render justice and civility, and to live in harmony with the living planet Earth, you should avoid that religion and that church.
However, any wholesale rejection of God because you object to or find fault with The Bible, a religion, a church, or the proponents of a religion, put you at risk for the hell of eternal existence of the immortal soul that defines you absent God's Presence and His Eternal Grace.
God will not let us ignore Him for any reason. He will not ignore our intent to ignore Him merely because we think the Bible is flawed; or that some religious leaders are "vipers and hypocrites"; or that some churches usurp and take advantage of the faithful.
God offers and gives Symbiotic Grace through eternity to the immortal souls that defines us if and only if we serve the purpose for which we are created--to satisfy His Need for rational symbionts. For the remainder of the human race, he has no need.
