It is important that mothers and fathers teach your sons and daughters that No God gave men authority to dominate women. Creation's design for rational sentient pairs intended the human sexual dyad to be a symbiotic bond. Created out of the same elements, men and women have the same biological systems except for differences in the emotional, physical, and reproductive designs necessary for the propagation of the human species.
You can subscribe to the biblical assertion in the book of Genesis that "God took a rib from Adam, the first man, to create Eve, the first woman"; or you can subscribe to an anthropological supposition that woman is a biological offspring of man; or you can subscribe to an anthropological supposition that the male of our species is a biological offspring of the female of our species. None of these stories and theories has a God of Creation significance.
Propagation of theories about the creation of humankind and the hype over the differences between the sexes only serve to amplify what is a God of Creation anathema. The trouble between the sexes is a flawed human analysis borne of religious and sociological diseases that is more a function of unchallenged male physical dominance than anything else.
As a result of war, the prolific rape of female captives and prisoners, slavery, and the copious exploitation and abuse of prostitutes and concubines in so-called civilized cultures, as much as anything else, too many men did not grow in their ability to value women.
If they believed in God, they believed God made men bigger, faster, and stronger because God intended men to lord over women. Once men began to act out that horrific belief, subduing and violating women to prove it, Creation's intended development of a symbiotic bond between men and women was savagely retarded.
The softness and gentleness women possessed, necessary in the sexual complement for the nurture and care of children, were perceived by men to be an innate weakness, suitable for taking. The male's perception of his "God given right" to dominate women, coupled with his physical strength and propensity for aggression, forced women to assume an incontestable subordinate role. This was especially true when the women's male protectors lost the ability, the will, or the opportunity to protect them, which was often the case in a species so addicted to war.
Devaluing women and deeming them less important perhaps was one of the ways men tried to cope with having lost the ability to protect the women they loved and save them from sexual violation and sexual exploitation. In too many places a woman became the slave and sexual property of her captors. And in a patriarchal culture of male supremacy, sometimes, she was little more than property to her mate, her husband, and sometimes even to her father and brothers.
Given contemporary abhorrent sensibilities of men in their perception of women, it is incumbent upon all women to help empower young girls to question anyone and anything that does not empower women in any culture to have the same rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that the men in that culture have. This includes but is not limited to the following examples.
1. No God Of Creation condones rape, sexual dominance, the War On Women, rape, nor the suppression of women's rights even when it's done in their perceived God's name.
2. "She raised an interesting question. 'About that Adam and Eve in the garden story, which would a Rational Intelligent Being create first, one who could give birth or one who could not?' But that's what happens when men write history, especially when its disguised as the word of God."
3. Christian women, especially those in local fundamentalism and charismatic churches, should remember that your "Lord And Savior Jesus Christ" did not command women to obey their husbands: the apostle Paul did that.
Selah.
