Why do so many women on the Christians right seem angry and unhappy? Is it because they are? Is it because angry Christians have embraced the rhetoric of division, hate, and ethnic and moral superiority instead of the love for humanity The Christ showed? It was only a movie, but the reality rang loudly. A white rancher tracked down men who had raped and murdered a woman. Before he killed them, one was incensed and demanded: "Why? She was just an Indian squaw!" To which the rancher screamed, "She Was My Wife!" An article in The Nation, Feminism's Toxic Twitter Wars [February 17, 2014] reminded one black man of his first attempt to become a partner in the white feminist movement. Women Jurors in murder trials, like men, are often swayed by the "blame-the-victim-for-his-own-death" defense. This has been especially true when the victim is black, brown, and red young men.
